Introducing the Network Centre

Working within the GenDiMedNet consortium

M1 sees itself as a support consortium for the technology projects in M2 and M3. Together with our 29 advisory board members, we contribute expertise, methods and perspectives precisely where they are relevant to the development of the projects. This creates a continuous exchange between technology development, research and gender-sensitive expertise. What emerges from this exchange does not stay in the moment of the conversation. Experiences, questions, methods and findings are documented, shared and made usable for others. In this way, networking becomes a resource for research, technology development and society.

Networking into the ecosystem

Developing interactive technologies for gender-sensitive medicine requires perspectives and skills that reach beyond the structure of GenDiMedNet. That is why our Network Centre connects the consortium with stakeholders from science, medicine, healthcare, industry, politics, technology, design and other fields. Trade fairs, conferences, workshops, political dialogues and personal contacts open up new access to expertise, transfer partners and innovative opportunities for cooperation. In this way, the consortium becomes an open network that takes in knowledge and impulses from outside while also carrying findings outwards.

Interaction with communities and the public

Gender-sensitive medicine does not emerge in research institutions and technology projects alone. It must be oriented towards the lived realities of the people who use healthcare and who are meant to benefit from innovation. That is why GenDiMedNet opens its networking spaces to communities, users, advocacy groups, patients, the professional public and society at large. The aim is networking that does not just talk about people but with them. Their experiences, needs, perspectives and knowledge should feed into the development of gender-sensitive and socially relevant innovations at an early stage.
